Book our jacket making course – online and discover the inner secrets of the soft tailored  jacket.
 

You will construct a jacket sample learning how to:

  • Use a range of professional fusible interfacings
  • Convert the under collar pattern piece to the bias grain line for a smoother roll
  • Stitch an inset corner
  • Sew the rever (lapel) without puckers and with sharp corners
  • Stitch a dart with a perfect point
  • Set in and sew a balanced, smooth sleeve head
  • Machine a buttonhole
  • Press for a professional finish
  • and other top tips and techniques along the way
  • There will be an optional extra session about how to cut a pattern to line an unlined jacket pattern.

The course fee includes the jacket pattern and interfacings. We will also send a sample pack to practice the inset corner.

 
The cost of the garment fabric is not included in the course fee. You will need medium weight wool or a wool mix. Please contact us if you need help with your fabric selection.
This course is for intermediate and advanced dressmakers.
