Last chance tomorrow, pattern size survey, Sewing Bee online dates for September and my first downloadable workshop!
As you may know I love overlocking! I have been an authorised dealer for baby lock overlockers, cover stitch and combination machines for a couple of years now. They are amazing machines for their easy jet-air threading, versatility and build quality.
I heard on the grapevine earlier in the year that a brand new model was being released this summer and even better that baby lock were running a competition with a chance to win one.
I have been let into the secret TODAY, and it is amazing but I can’t say any more – sorry.
The competition closes tomorrow at 23.59 with the big reveal on Saturday.
Just collect the letters from the videos on social media, re-arrange them into the name of the new machine and then submit your answer at www.babylock.co.uk .
I’m really hoping one of you lovely sewers is the lucky winner.
You can also view the full range on my new website www.babylockshop.co.uk
A perennial grumble about commercial patterns is the sizing. It’s rare for anyone to fit into the standard measurement chart exactly and most patterns do need adjustments. Don’t forget your toile!
The editors at the online magazine The Pattern Pages are asking sewers to answer a quick questionnaireabout sizing to improve the fit. If you have a spare minute go to www.patternpages.co.uk to take part.
The Sewing Bee online workshops started last week. Thank you to everyone who came along. We got a huge amount done in the 2 hours and you really put me through my paces with your questions!
The dates for September are:
Don’t forget the tea and biscuits.
Online courses had always been one of my long term plans which I’ve had no excuse to ignore over the past few months.
It’s been a huge learning curve from running a workshops over Zoom, making and editing videos and formatting them into a downloadable workshop.
But, I’ve done it! You can now download my How to insert a concealed zip workshop at www.janewhitetuition.co.uk. I know it won’t be up for an oscar but I hope it will make the whole process easily doable with step by step instructions.
As always, just get in touch if you would like more information or I can help and hope you are the lucky winner!
Best wishes and keep on sewing
